Employee Spotlight: Calvin Friar

Meet Calvin Friar, Control Technician!

Calvin Friar spent a decade at Unilever in production and other various roles before joining FMH Conveyors in September 2020.  Calvin said that because FMH was growing, he thought it would be an excellent opportunity to grow his career as well.  

As a control technician, he assists production and rigid with the telescopic and best reach units, troubleshoots unit during production and before quality inspection. 

He likes the work/life balance that FMH provides along with the benefits and says that the most enjoyable aspect of his job is working with engineering and contributing to product development.  

Over the next ten years, Calvin would like to see growth and further technological advancement in the different types of products that FMH builds.  

Calvin resides in Jonesboro, AR with his wife, Tasha, and their eight-year-old son, Linc. In his free time, Calvin likes to read, play the guitar and attend concerts.  

Some things that you may be surprised to know about Calvin is that he likes to spend his summers on the Spring River with family, he enjoys pinball, and he was married by an Elvis impersonator in Las Vegas.  

The most important thing Calvin has learned over the past five years is the value of patience. He says that “change takes time and some things you can’t rush”.
